Energy Friendly Homes Program

No-cost or low-cost energy upgrades for your Portland home

The Energy Friendly Homes Program funds energy efficiency improvements in low-income, owner-occupied, single-family homes and offer upgrades for renters and moderate-income households. Get a healthier, quieter, and more comfortable home that uses less energy. Upgrades may include, but are not limited to, heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and building envelope improvements such as air sealing and insulation. The amount paid is determined by your income eligibility and the approved Scope of Work.

After a home walk-through with an Energy Specialist to determine eligibility, an approved contractor will schedule an on-site energy assessment to create your upgrade plan. You review and approve the plan, the contractor installs the upgrades, and then a Quality Assurance Provider confirms proper installation.

Eligibility: If you own a home in the Portland city limits and your income is below 150% Area Median Income (AMI) you may be eligible. Renters may also be eligible.
