We are thrilled to introduce Kate Szrom, our new ElectrifyPDX Outreach Coordinator. Kate is passionate about community climate resilience. Most recently, she worked with rural Oregon health departments to share information with their communities, with a focus on emerging health issues like wildfire smoke exposure. Previously, she worked in emergency management at the city of Portland, coordinating with community organizations on climate emergency response. Her efforts included getting cooling equipment to community locations, offering heat illness education, and translating safety messages into over 20 languages. At home, she enjoys her garden and mini orchard, where she especially loves growing black currants and kabocha squash. Welcome, Kate!
