Home Changes for Health
Free heating, cooling, and air filters for OHP members with health-related needs
Oregon Health Plan (OHP) members can apply for access to weather-related resources through a benefit called health-related social needs (HRSN) services. Under this benefit, OHP members facing certain life transitions may be eligible to
receive equipment that maintain healthy temperatures and clean air, including air conditioners, heaters, and air filtration devices. Mini refrigeration units for storing medications and portable power supplies to operate medical equipment for power outages are also available. OHP members may qualify to receive more than one type of equipment if they meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility: OHP members who have a health condition that makes extreme weather events challenging or dangerous, and who are in a life transition, such as:
• Leaving incarceration (jail, detention, etc.)
• Leaving a mental health or substance use recovery facility
• In the Oregon child welfare system (foster care) now or in the past
