Have you taken an electric bike for a spin? It just might be the most fun you’ve had in a while.
Currently, transportation is not part of the ElectrifyPDX program, but we think e-bikes are the coolest thing since sliced bread. Hauling children or a fully-loaded bike up a small hill used to be a chore. Now, people go farther and faster in more kinds of weather on bikes across town.
Turns out, it’s not necessary to haul a ton of car-shaped metal and plastic wherever we go. One benefit of e-bikes is that they require much smaller batteries (less rare metals) than cars. Our planet’s rare metals will serve more people if they’re moving people on bikes instead of cars.
