2023 has been a banner first year for ElectrifyPDX! Thank you to everyone who has taken part in our program, attended an event, volunteered, sponsored, or donated. Since launching our program in late November of 2022, we have:
- Distributed 116 yard signs to homes that are in the process of electrifying
- Certified 38 homes, four businesses, and three multifamily communities
- Brought on our program manager, Shannon Wilson
- Hosted our inaugural ElectrifyPortland! Event in October of 2023, with roughly 800 attendees and 37 exhibitors!
- Created a contractor partnership program with Community Energy Project, Sun Glow, Power Northwest, Heat Pump Store, and Elemental Energy
- Expanded our list of electrification-friendly contractors to 16 local companies
- Given 16 electrification presentations, attended more than five community events and performed six continuing education trainings
- Joined electrification groups from across the state to collectively launch ElectrifyOregon
- Used the funding from a PCEF mini-grant to distribute signs with Community Energy Project, provide free exhibition space for CEP, Verde and Metropolitan Family Services at our Electrify Portland event, and create a low-moderate income resource sheet in English and Spanish
- Sent out monthly newsletters with timely and practical information on topics such as swapping out your range, signing up for community solar, electrification for renters, how to save money on electric bill with demand response programs, bundling ETO and federal incentives, and green,clean and quiet lawn care.
- Been featured in local press (Oregonian) and national press (Reasons to be Cheerful)
- Shared lessons learned & resources with Rewiring America and grassroots groups in Oregon, Washington, Montana, Washington, DC, and Boulder, CO.
